This type of fire extinguisher is the most cost-effective and is used against the majority of fires. It puts out ABC rating fires from paper, wood, liquids, and electric equipment. The extinguisher sprays a dry chemical powder. The dry chemical is non-toxic, but does leave a dusty residue when the extinguisher is discharged. ABC fire extinguishers are not recommended to be used on sensitive office equipment, industrial equipment, or heavy machinery which may be damaged by the powder.
